Chakhesang Students’ Union observed its annual ‘Black Day’ at North Kikruma village, Phek district on October 3.

Revokes non-cooperation movement against FGN Non-Accordist and NSCN-K
Phek, October 3 (MExN): The Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) observed its annual ‘Black Day’ at North Kikruma village, Phek district on October 3. A press note received here stated that this commemoration honoured the memory of Lt Achikho Puro, former Games and Sports Secretary of CSU (2006-2008), who was tragically killed on October 3, along with Lt Kuzhongoyo Puro, Lt Kuvetso Kezo, and Lt Avo Kezo, by the combined forces of NSCN-K and FGN Non-Accordist.
The keynote addresses were delivered by Pfhülo Sara, President CSU, Veto Kezo VCM & Former President, Kikruma Students' Union, Thupusuyo Tunyi, Village Council Chairman, North Kikruma and Mutsivoyi Kotso, Tribunal General & Former President CSU.
Medovi Rhi, President, Naga Students' Federation (NSF), gave solidarity message. He saluted the CSU for observing ‘Black Day’ in memory of four heroes who sacrificed their life for the cause of Naga sovereignty. He also stated to forgive and go forward in strengthening the Naga unity for the better future.
In the event, CSU President announced the “revocation of the non-cooperation movement against the Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) Non-Accordist and the National Socialist Council of Nagaland-Khaplang (NSCN-K), exercising the powers vested in the Executive Council by the Union Assembly's Standing Resolution No. 3.”
It was stated that “this decision was made with forgiveness in mind,” and the President urged all Nagas, regardless of their background or affiliation, to come together in harmony.
The President also emphasised the crucial need for collective efforts to achieve a swift and enduring political solution for the Naga people, encouraging unity and cooperation among all the Nagas and relevant stakeholders.
“This move marks a significant step towards reconciliation and peaceful resolution, and the CSU’s leadership encourages all parties to work collaboratively towards a mutually beneficial outcome,” it stated.
The programme was chaired by Kuzoto Swuro, General Secretary, CSU and Pastor Kuzuveyo Puro of North Kikruma Baptist Church offered the invocation. The programme was graced by the presence of CSU executives and Tribunals, CSU Seniors, council members of Kikruma and North Kikruma, CSU affiliated Units, family members of the victims, elders, and well-wishers.
