
Phek, March 30 (MExN): The Chakhesang Youth Front (CYF) conducted area touring-cum-coordination meeting with all the affiliated village/town units on March 25 and 26.
Resolutions made by Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) which is being implemented by CYF were highlighted and discussed during the meeting. It was resolved that the village/town units will extend fullest cooperation to strengthen and also for the successful implementation of the resolutions, CYF President, Vezhodüyi Nakro and Press Secretary, Likalo Letro stated in a press release.
Biodiversity conservation
The CYF reiterated the following resolutions concerning biodiversity conservation:
• Indiscriminate burning of jungle is strictly prohibited. Defaulters will be penalized with a fine of Rs 30,000.
• Collection/extraction of medicinal plants is banned. Fine of Rs 20,000 shall be penalised from the defaulters and goods shall be confiscated by the concerned authority.
• Hunting will be strictly restricted throughout the year. Capturing, coursing, snaring, trapping or baiting of any birds or wild animals shall be strictly restricted. Any person found carrying weapons, explosives, firearms, poison, snares, traps or apparatus capable of anaesthetizing, decoying, destroying, injuring or killing of birds and wild animals shall be penalised with a fine of Rs 10,000 for individuals and Rs 30,000 for groups (i.e. 3 persons or more). Such equipments/apparatus shall be seized.
• Use of equipments/apparatus such as battery, generator, chemicals etc for fishing is strictly restricted, a fine of Rs 10,000 will be penalised from the defaulters, which can be enhanced depending on the extent of devastation caused. Such equipments/apparatus will be seized.

Import of pigs/piglets
• Import of pigs/piglets weighing below 30 kgs for rearing only, will be allowed to interested persons or party. Health certificate from the concern Veterinary Department must be produced to the authority.
• Import of pigs/piglets above the prescribed weight is strictly restricted. Defaulters will be penalised with a fine of Rs 30,000 irrespective of quantity. The pig(s) must be evacuated from Chakhesang jurisdiction within 24 hours if not will be seized by the concerned authority.

Illegal taxation
Besides the CPO resolutions, thorough deliberations were also held in regard to illegal taxation of business establishments, mega-projects and other issues within the Chakhesang inhabited areas in Phek District.
The youth front reiterated its previous resolution that: CYF will not allow any illegal taxes and obstruction of developmental activities by any individuals or groups within Phek District; CYF will check and monitor the quality of works on all the developmental activities undertaken by the State and Central government; CYF will periodically check irregularities of Public Servants in the Offices within the Chakhesang inhabited areas of Phek district.
Other activities during the tour included soordination meeting Phek District Chamber of Commerce & Industries, inspection of Community Health Centre at Pfutsero. Courtesy call was also made to Deputy Commissioner, Phek, Superintendent of Police, Phek and Additional Deputy Commissioner, Pfutsero.
The CYF has requested the public to abide by the resolutions passed by CPO and implemented by CYF for the welfare of the community. The concerned subordinate area, town, village youth presidents are authorized to strictly implement the resolutions in their respective areas with earnest sincerity, it stated.
