Chang cultural troupe today demonstrated traditional way of making fire (Khüngkhün Wansatyung) at ‘Cultural Connect’ event at the Hornbill Festival 2021 at Kisama. Forefathers were unaware of the modern technique of making fire. During their time, they had no modern lighter or matchbox for making the fire. But using the traditional method (Khüngkhün Wansatyung), they made fire wherever they went. Wood shavings are used as tinder and a rope or vine is pulled rapidly between two sticks to cause frictions. The sparks produced ignite the tinder.
