Peren, December 19 (DIPR): We must change our mind-set to make economy as our strength, stated Chief Minister of Nagaland T.R. Zeliang while speaking as Chief Guest during the Golden Jubilee Celebration of the establishment of New Jalukie Village, Peren.
Zeliang was also of the view that the villagers should set a specific target to enhance its economy with help from Government funded projects such as NERLP, World Bank etc. He called for retrospection of the past fifty years and to take corrective measures to build a future for them, based on strong economy.
Our youth’s potentials should be utilised within our state and we should not hire experts from outside the state for construction purposes etc., he said. Knowing this, the Government has introduced ‘Year of Construction Workers’ to train our youth, he added. He also stated that meat import have climbed to 40% over the years and called for self-sufficiency in meat production too.
Earlier Minister for Highways, G. Kaito Aye in his speech congratulated the villagers for the fruitful 50 years. He wished the villagers the very best for many more years to come, on all fronts of development. He also referred to the call of the Naga people for solution before the Election.
