
Dimapur, August 23 (MExN): A joint co-ordination meeting between Changki Village Council (CVC) and Mekokla Village Council (MVC) was held on August 22 at Orija Salang, Changki.
The two village councils strongly resolved “to bury all past differences, reiterate their aged old relationship, and promote unity and co-operation on all issues concerning the two villages.” The house resolved that as requested by the Mekokla Village Council, the Changki council shall extend all possible help and co-operation towards restoration of Changki-Mekokla road.
In order to address all issues concerning the two villages a ‘Joint Co-ordination Committee’ was formed with the following members: Arem Aonok-Convenor; L. Manthungo Kikon- Secretary; and members including Imtinochet, Chentiraba and Nyamo z. Yanthan. The house further empowered the Joint Co-ordination Committee to formulate programmes on any developmental activities in consultation with the two village council.
A press note jointly issued by the two village councils stated that chaired by Arem Aonok, Chairman, Changki Village Council (CVC), the meeting started with an invocation prayer by Tekamari. The Chairman welcomed the members present and invited Nyamo Z. Yanthan, Chairman Mekokla Village Council (MVC) for a brief introduction of the proposed meeting. MVC chairman presented a traditional Lotha scarf to all the GBs of Changki village council as a token of goodwill gesture. The chairperson also invited the member present to share views and opinion on various issues pertaining to mutual co-existence among the two neighbouring villages.
