Minister Tongpang Ozukum during his visit to Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital, Mokokchung on January 5, where 9 passengers injured in a car accident in Changtongya on Tuesday are undergoing treatment.
Mokokchung, January 5 (MExN): The Minister for PWD (Housing & Mechanical) Tongpang Ozukum today visited nine passengers injured in a car accident in Changtongya town on January 4.
The injured passengers are currently undergoing treatment at Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH), Mokokchung.
Ozukum interacted with the patients and the medical staffs to assess about their well being and offered financial assistance as emergency aid for the injured, informed a press release.
He was accompanied by the officials of NDPP Mokokchung region, Chief Medical Officer, Mokokchung and well wishers, added the release from Press Secretary to the Minister.
The Mokokchung-bound taxi from Tobu, Mon district met with an accident on January 4 near Changtongya Town, after skidded off the road and falling some 60-70 feet below, killing one passenger and injuring nine others. According to police on Tuesday, the driver was absconding and investigation was on to ascertain the cause of the accident. The driver was said to have gone missing from the site right after the accident.
