Kohima, August 16 (MExN): The 17th Governor's Award 2019 in Arts, Music and Literature in the category of Literature and Arts has been conferred to Charles Chasie and Dreamz Unlimited on the occasion of the 73rd Independence Day at Durbar Hall Raj Bhavan, Kohima on August 15. The awardees were given a cheque of 5 lakhs, silver plaque, certificate and a shawl, informed a DIPR report.  


Charles Chasie is a Kohima based journalist and author by profession. He has published many books touching mostly on social-cultural life and politics of Nagaland. His books included ‘Age-old ties: Pfutseromi & Khwuno Thevo’ (2013), ‘Bearing Witness’ (2011), ‘Nagas Today: Indigenous Discourse’ (2010-11), Geeti Sen's Edited ‘Where the Sun Rises When Shadow fall: The North East’ (2006), ‘The Naga Imbroglio: A personnel perspective.’ He has also directed and produced documentaries like ‘The beginning of life’ and ‘For the sake of Tomorrow.’ He was felicitated by the Media Trust in 2007 for his contributions in literature. He is a leading luminary in the field of literature and Social activities. 


Dreamz Unlimited is a theater and film production house based in Dimapur. The group formation can be traced in the year 2008 after an intensive theatre workshop conducted by the National School of Drama, New Delhi in collaboration with NEZCC, Dimapur. They have performed plays based on social issues mixed with satire and humor for some churches, civil societies, NGOs and Government Department with the motto, bringing a change. They have a YouTube channel where they consistently upload short videos on the trending topics. At present, it has more than 2,17,000 subscribers which is the highest in the State. Founder and Director of Dreamz Unlimited, Tiakumzuk Aier was adjudged winner of Golden Calton best Director Award for their film 'Nana'.
