Dimapur, March 6 (MExN): Chavara Home organized advance International Women’s Day celebration cum free checkup for Hepatitis B and C at its location here at Naharbari on March 5. Eighty women participated in the programme, which was graced by “First Lady” of 6th sector Assam Rifles, Vidika Dhiman as the chief guest.
A press release from Chavara Home informed that the chief guest stated without woman there is no man and that women have to take up the responsibility of forming a good society based on moral values.
Asha Sanchu, Director, Miqlat Ministry, Dimapur, in her keynote address stressed that there are many great women in the world. “We must learn to respect and value our own womanhood. A woman has tremendous capacity within herself,” she stated.
Meanwhile, special invitee Tokheli Kikon, Chairperson, Naharbari Village Council, also said that women have so much of strength within her and she has to divert it for the good of the society, the release said. She added that women have to go out of their way to reach the unreached.
Chavara Home children presented entertaining items for the women.
Medical team from Vini Clinic at Midland led by Dr. Hotoka conducted the free checkup for Hepatitis B and C. Seventy seven of the participants availed the free check up and forty of them received preventive vaccination too, the release added.
Competitions were also conducted for the women and the winners were awarded prizes by Brigaider Brijesh Dhiman of 6th sector Assam Rifles. He congratulated and encouraged the women to rise up in life and have such gathering often.
