Check influx of illegal immigrants: CNTC

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 30 (MExN): The Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) today raised concerns on the “unabated and the unchecked influx of illegal immigrants in the state.” Pointing to the MHA’s directive to identify and deport all illegal immigrants in the state, the CNTC, in a press note asked the Nagaland Government to start acting “before the indigenous population is swallowed by the illegal immigrants.”

The lackadaisical attitude of the state agencies has failed in protecting vulnerable indigenous population of the state, it added. The CNTC further asked all tribal hohos, civil societies, student organisations and churches to join them to “curb this menace.” It also raised concern on the random issuance of driving license, aadhar cards, PAN cards, etc. by respective authorities and on the issuance of the Permanent Residence

Certificates by GBS/Chairmen. As directed by the centre, it asked the Nagaland State Government to be serious and set up a task force at state and district level and identify all illegal immigrants and deport them at the earliest.
