Chief Minister, CCU offer condolences

Kohima, August 25 (MExN): Chief Minister TR Zeliang today mourned the demise of Dominic Yazokie, Additional Director, IPR. He passed away on August 24 at Bethesda Hospital, Kohima after a brief illness. A condolence message from the CM further stated that late Dominic joined service in November 1985 as PRO, Delhi and served the Government in different capacities with sincerity and commitment till his last breath. “I remember him not only as a dedicated Government officer but as a man who lived his life for the unity and progress of his people,” Zeliang said. The CM extended condolences and prayed that God bless the departed soul and grant solace to the bereaved family members.  

In a separate message, Chakesang Catholic Union (CCU) expressing sadness over the death said, “Late Yasokie was a dedicated and sincere Catholic leader who served the Church with all sincerity in various capacities.” Stating that Dominic, who was also Angami Catholic Union president, was known for his charming personality and qualities of preaching the Gospel, it added, “He was an officer admired by all for his simplicity and humility. In his death, we have lost a great Catholic leader in Nagaland, which has created a big vacuum and it will be difficult for us to fill the vacuum for many years to come.”

Meanwhile, CCU conveyed heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family members. We pray that the Almighty God grant them solace, peace of mind and the strength to bear the loss, it added.
