Tuensang, June 10 (MExN): The District Child Protection Unit, Tuensang organized awareness and sensitization programme on child right at Kuthur Village, Holongba Village, Tuensang Village and Panso Town on May 26 and 28, and June 3 and 4 respectively. The programs were based on responsibilities of adults and caring and protection of child.
Resource person were NS Khaikho, District Child Protection Officer, Thekrusolie Vakha, Legal cum Probation Officer, Keviyiechunuo, Protection Officer(IC) and Pakhiu Khiamniungan, Advocate & Secretary, Child Welfare Committee, Tuensang.
hey highlighted on Child Rights and Protection; Integrated Child Protection Scheme and its component; Role of Village Level Child Protection Committee; Juvenile Justice Act; Protection of Child from Sexual Offence and Prohibition of Child Labor, which exclusively dealt with the child right to survival, right to physical, mental and emotional development, principle of child right to participate in decision affecting his interest, principle of best interest and principle of family responsibility.
A press release issued by T. Vakha, Legal Probation officer said that the programme was very successful with huge attendance and responses, having question hours and feedbacks from the attendees for the care and protection of children.
