• Installations of prepaid meters complete in Dimapur
• Commissioning of pre-paid meters in ‘good progress’
• Quantum of power availability very less due to drought
• Raid/disconnection drive to continue
Dimapur, February 7 (MExN): The Power Department, Special Revenue Team held a meeting under the chairmanship of Joint Secretary, Power and team leader, Sara S Jamir at SLDC, Dimapur on February 7.
Addressing the meeting, the Team Leader informed that EE (E) Chümoukedima and EE (E) Dimapur have registered increase in revenue collection of 52.94% and 24.3% respectively, comparing to previous years revenue collection ending January 31. Jamir appreciated the EE (E) Chümoukedima and EE (E) Dimapur for their untiring effort for improvement in collection of revenue.
She also extended appreciation to EE (Transmission) and team for ensuring maximum power availability even in situation when there is reduced supply as compared to previous year. Putting in record, she appreciated consumers of both Chümoukedima and Dimapur District for their proactive cooperation to the Department without which revenue drive will not be a success, stated a DIPR report.
On prepaid meters, EE (E) Dimapur reported that installations of prepaid meters have completed and commissioning of pre-paid meters is in “good progress.”
On load shedding, EE (Transmission) clarified that due to drought like situation last year, quantum of power availability is very less. However, he stated that Dimapur Transmission Division and Distribution Division of Chümoukedima and Dimapur are coordinating and working very hard to minimize power outage.
It was decided to continue with raid/disconnection drive for revenue improvement along with Operation and Maintenance activities for the welfare of consumers.
The team leader stressed that while revenue collection is equally important, welfare and grievances of consumers and improvement in maintenance and stable power supply should not be neglected.
