Christian Forum Dimapur to work for enhanced unity

Dimapur, September 1 (MExN): The Christian Forum Dimapur (CFD) resolved to work out plan of action to enhance unity among all the Christian brothers and sisters and other religions respectively.


This was resolved in an executive body meeting held on August 31 at Bishop’s House, Dimapur.


The meeting began with an invocation by Reverend Vitoshe Swu and the Chairman Reverend Moses Murry welcomed the members, a press release from CFD stated.


The following points were discussed and made resolutions to bring unity and positive changes among the churches in Dimapur.


The members felt the need to host an inter-denominational Christmas carol at Dimapur this year, where the CFD, youth wing was given the responsibility to organize the event.


They were also instructed to organize the programme with a minimum budget in collaboration with Government and non-government organizations to bring the youth in one platform to augment the spiritual life.


The executive members of the CFD collectively agreed to organize a seminar for the Christian leaders, Pastors, Reverends, Priests and faithful respectively on October 22.


The main purpose of the seminar was to pray and create awareness on the various issues happening against minority communities and especially among Christians in the biggest democracy of India and work for unity and harmony among the people in the country, it added.


The programme is scheduled to begin at 8:00 am – 1:00 pm, at Town Baptist Church, Dimapur.  Reverend Dr N Paphino will pronounce the invocation and Reverend Dr A Bendangyapang PhD will lead the seminar.


Another programme suggested by the members was to have Monthly Christian Fellowship in different churches.

The members decided to have the fellowship on the first Tuesday of every month from 6:00 am -7:00 am in different churches praying together with their Pastors, Reverends, Priests and Faithful, for the unity and immediate settlement and find sustainable solution for the protracted Indo-Naga conflict.


The members further decided to come together to pray on September 3 at Sumi Baptist Church, in charge of leading the prayer with the local church pastor and church members by Rev Moses Murry, on October 1 at ACRC Church in Burma Camp led by Rev S Vitoshe Swu, on November 5 at  Holy Cross Church Dimapur, led by Rev Dr Paphino, on December 3 at Assembly of God Church (AG) led by Rev Dr CP Anto.


The CFD office bearers constituted the drafting committee for the CFD constitution – Rev Dr CP Anto along with Rev Dr P Dozo and Rev Moses Murry were appointed to circulate the draft copy of the same to the members as early as possible for suggestions. Rev Murry was further given the responsibility to re-modify the logo for the Christian Forum Dimapur.
