Dimapur, November 9 (MExN): The Chumukedima Town Council (CTC) declared that Industries Minister H Kekiho Zhimomi has brought about tremendous development in Chumukedima and at the same time declared that it will wholeheartedly support the Minister in the next general election.
A press statement received here from the Town Council office, which was issued by the CTC Chairperson, Neichu-u Kuotsu while refuting to certain allegations made by “Gaon Boras of Chumukedima Town Council”, clarified that Chumukedima Town has witnessed many developmental activities under the leadership of Industries Minister H Khekiho Zhimomi.
The CTC Chairperson said that the majority of the NPF councilors of Chumukedima Town Council did not attend the meeting of the ‘twelve’ GBs, which is said to be attended by the Head GB, Kelenguzo Kuotsu. Anyhow, the release wondered how the number increased to twelve since till date the government has approved and appointed only seven GBs, who are appointed not on political grounds but for ‘the services and interests’ of general public.
“The said meeting was not in the knowledge nor did any of the majority 8 (eight) NPF Councilors of Chumukedima Town Council did attend the said meeting and also is not aware of the reason and objective of the said meeting,” said Kuotsu.
The release said that the NPF councilors of CTC are ‘not against any individual of party’; nonetheless, the Chairperson highlighted some activities undertaken by Minister Khekiho, ‘in order to let truth and factual circumstances prevail’.
Giving details of the developments achieved under the leadership of Khekiho, the release said that the Chumukedima Town Council became a full-fledged civic body at the initiative of the Minister. Construction of drainage, completion of Modern Marketing Complex, expansion and development of Chumukedima local ground, repairing of road, completion of CTC office, approval of a government hospital etc were some of the other developmental achievements of the Minister as highlighted by the CTC Chairperson.
The release in this regard, asserted that all these developmental works have been achieved under the leadership of Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, Dr Shurhozelie Liezietsu, NPF President and Minister Khekiho, the ‘guardian legislator’ of 4th Ghaspani-I A/C.
The release therefore asked that if such vast number of essential and developmental works are ‘his’ bonus within a span if only five years, more and better developmental works will be carried out and implemented under ‘his’ initiative and guidance in the next term.
“Therefore , we the NPF councilors of the Chumukedima Town Council hereby declare and committe that we shall work and support whole heartedly and unitedly the candidature of Shri H Khekiho Zhimomi, our official NPF candidate under 4th Ghaspani-I A/C in the forthcoming Assembly Election, in the interest and welfare of the public of Chumukedima in general,” the Kuotsu said.
