Peren, August 11 (MExN): A one-day sensitization cum training on Measles-Rubella vaccination campaign for all the church leaders under Peren block was held at District Hospital Peren on August 10.
Dr Nukshisangla Jamir, DPO, UIP/RCH highlighted the importance and objectives of the MR campaign. Stating that the target for Nagaland is 7 lakhs, she specifically mentioned that unlike the polio campaign which usually involves health workers visiting door to door, the MR vaccine will be given only at the session sites.
She further called upon all the church leaders to cooperate, advocate and broadcast intensive positive awareness for a successful MR campaign in the district.
Also attending the meeting, Dr. John, Paediatrician, DH Peren explained the importance, purpose and functions of the MR vaccine.
The program was chaired by Melenguno, BPM Peren and invocation prayer was led by Rev. Suitei Ndang, Baptist Church Peren Town.
