
DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 11 (MExN): The Central Institute of Horticulture, DAC & FW, Medziphema conducted 3 days of online learning on ‘Secondary Activities of Agriculture for Income Generation and Self Reliance’ from September 7 to 9 through virtual platform.
The objective of the programme was to disseminate the latest production technologies of mushrooms, bee keeping technology, honey processing, vermin composting, preparation of bio formulation and also on the digital platforms for agriculture viability. It was attended by entrepreneurs, PhD scholars and farmers from Nagaland and other North East states virtually making a total attendance of around 75 participants per day.
Dr NK Patle, Deputy Commissioner, DAC & FW and Director incharge, CIH, in his introductory note, welcomed all the participants and highlighted the objective of the three days online learning programmme and the importance of the training for self reliance.
The speakers for the programme were Dr Rajesha, Scientist (Plant pathology), ICAR-IIMR Rajendranagar, Hyderabad, Telanagana; Dr Sosang Longkumer, CEO, Konger Agritech Pvt Ltd, Dimapur, Nagaland; Dr Deepak Nayak, Scientist & Incharge, ICAR-CISH RRS, Malda, West Bengal; Dr SB Agarwal, Senior Scientist, JNKVV, Jabalpur; and Aleema Seadath, CEO & Founder, Flowcatalyst Technologies.
Dr Rajesha presented a lecture on Production Technology of Oyster mushrooms; and Dr Sosang Longkumer delivered a lecture on cultivation of shitake mushroom as an entrepreneurship venture. A presentation on bee keeping technology and processing of honey was delivered by Dr Dipak Nayak. The presentation topic on vermi composting and preparation of bio formulation was delivered by Dr SB Agarwal and the presentation on introduction of digital platforms to transform agri viability was delivered by Aleema Seadath.
The training programme ended with a concluding remark by the Director, CIH, in which he thanked all speakers for sparing their time to share their valuable knowledge to the participants. He also thanked all the participants and encouraged them to continually take part in such events.
