DIMAPUR, AUGUST 14 (MExN): The Christian Institute of Health Science and Research (CIHSR) has announced reopening of all services from August 17 onwards.

A press release from the CIHSR Director, Dr Sedevi Angami said that all the areas that have been affected by the COVID-19 virus have been sanitized and are now ready to be used again. “All staff who were infected by COVID-19 and have recovered by the stringent recommended criteria from CDC/ ICMR and Department of Health, Government of Nagaland will be allowed to work again at patient areas,” it added.

The press release added that only non-infected staff or recovered staff will manage patient interface sections of the hospital. All precautionary measures are in place to prevent further infection transmission within the hospital, it assured. It further said that protocols for possible emerging infections among staff or patients have been established.

Meanwhile, the isolation ward of 10 beds for possible “very serious COVID-19 patients” is functional and will be used as an interim stay for stabilizing before transferring to the COVID-19 hospital. Measures have been taken to ensure that there is continuity of service for dialysis patients who may incidentally become positive for COVID-19 while under treatment.

The CIHSR stated that measures to educate the patients and their relatives about the COVID-19 situation and its appropriate response will continue, while working closely with the State Health Department and other agencies in areas of communications, protocol updates, testing, training, education and networking.
