Kohima, March 9 (MExN): The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the apex industry body of India, today expressed hope to work as “close partner” with the new government in Nagaland in taking the State to fast growth and development. “Our best wishes go to the new team. CII is confident that in the new dispensation, the State will find a Government which is development driven and responsive to the aspirations of the people, especially the young,” Mayank Jalan, Chairman, CII North East Council & Managing Director, Keventer Agro Ltd said in a press statement. “We would like to work hand in hand with the new state government for overall growth and development of the State,” he added. Through its office in Kohima, “CII would like to work in Infrastructure, Food Processing, Agriculture, Entrepreneurship Development and Healthcare, the sectors which merit immediate attention,” the statement further stated. Maintaining that infrastructure development should be the major thrust area of the new government, Jalan said improving connectivity within the state and also with the rest of the country is the urgent need. “This will help promote tourism.” The other priority areas for the incoming government in Nagaland, he said, include creating enabling environment for investments, education, skill development, healthcare and women’s empowerment.
