CKS calls off bandh

Tuensang, January 7 (MExN): The Chang Khulei Setshang (CKS) has resolved to call off the indefinite total bandh within Chang jurisdiction, following Nagaland State Cabinet decision vide. NO.CON-66/2017-18 Dated 7th January 2018. It appealed the CKS to call off the ongoing indefinite total bandh within Chang jurisdiction in the larger interest of the Naga people. The Cabinet also appended its decision that the inclusion of Chingmei range villages in Noklak district and the district inauguration would be done only after Noklak village council and Chingmei village council amicably resolved the issue.

A press release issued by CKS President, MP Nokshang, and General Secretary, C Yenten, stated that the Chang Tribal Council (CKS), based on the cabinet decision and its appeal, has decided to call off the bandh with effect from January 7. However, the CKS stated that the bandh will resume at any time if the decision of the cabinet fails to be exercised.
