CM to peruse Phek public memorandum

Kutsapo (Phek dist) Jan 10 (MExN): Chief Minister Neiphui Rio today conveyed that he would first judiciously study the pros and cons regarding the joint public memorandum submitted by the public during his visit to Kutsapo in connection with the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Tizu Area Sports Association (TASA). 

Rio said that he would keep in touch with the elected representatives of 19th Phek A/C Kuzholuzo Nienu and 20th Meluri A/C Yitachu to find out the possible areas, which will meet the desires of the general public. 

Earlier, lamenting on the deplorable road condition of Kutsapo- Phek Town, the memorandum requested the Chief Minister to provide necessary sanction for widening, soiling, metalling, culverts cross drains and side drains and “if possible, black topping of the said road.” 

The memorandum also requested the Chief Minister to provide funds for construction of a standard rostrum at Chepoketa village playground to mark the establishment of TASA way back in 1956. 

Informing the latter that that the EAC headquarters at Khuza is yet to connect with water supply till date wherein around 30-40 household resides, it requested the Chief Minister to make necessary financial provisions for water supply there. 

Also stating that the road condition at Tizu bridge point between Phek Town and Sohomi village of Phek- Meluri road via Sohomi and Phek- Suthotsu via K. Khuno “is too bad that vehicles cannot ply on this road almost throughout the year,” and on top of that, due to excessive zigzags and abnormal stiffness within this short portion of the road where vehicle cannot even carry half of its prescribed loads besides risk of accidents, the memorandum urged that the concerned department be directed/instructed to divert this particular portion of Phek-Meluri and Phek Suthotsu road in the interest of all concern. 

The memorandum also acknowledged the Chief Minister for successfully completing four years in office and bringing tremendous changes and achievement in the state. 

Minister for agriculture Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, commissioner and secretary agriculture N.N Zhasa, ex-minister Vejoi Vero, former minister and NPF general secretary Kewezu G. Kenye, ex-MLA Chiekhutso, Phek DC Sachopra Vero, commandant 5th NAP Phek Sevoyi Sapuh, commandant 33 Assam Rifles, SP Phek, NPF Phek division president Chivotso Nienu and several other dignitaries also graced the occasion of the TASA golden jubilee. 

Earlier, the function was chaired by Kupota Khesoh, Chairperson Phek Town Council while TASA president Vekhosa Vese delivered presidential address.
