Dimapur, Nov 7 (MExN): In the recently-triggered war of words between the NPF and MLA K Therie, the former – in reaction to the ex- Finance Minister’s attack on DAN’s ‘failure’ to meet commitments made in the Common Minimum Programme (CMP) – maintained that the programme has achieved results ‘beyond’ its target.
“As far as Common Minimum programme of the DAN government (is) concerned, the DAN government has made a splendid record of achieving beyond its target strictly in line with its CMP” a rejoinder from the NPF through its Press Secretary R Paphino stated. The party maintained that apart from “such achievements”, the DAN government has the distinction of ‘completing protracted and unfinished projects of the then Congress Government all over Nagaland within a record time’. “The NPF-led DAN government is committed to the cause of our people and therefore, contrary to Mr Therie’s contentions, we have a clear vision and with this guiding light, we vouch to work ceaselessly in times to come” the party assured.
On the contentious ‘Bedrock of Naga Society’ booklet issue, the NPF is “amused” at the manner in which Therie is “clubbing himself with Mr I Imkong, Leader of Opposition”. “A man who had vociferously condemned the NPCC and its fancy booklet to its heel and even went to the extent of stamping at the booklet again and again, could realize his folly within few years time to join the bandwagon of the Congress party” the NPF maintained adding that “a season has begun where slippery politicians are changing their colors”. “Driving at our point, the recent sharing of platform with his bitter and arch rival Mr SC Jamir at Chozuba on 19th October, 2006 is a clear revelation of his mind and political intention. Now, therefore, we leave it to the Naga people to observe and pronounce their verdict on Mr. K Therie” the NPF added.
