CNC announces 7-day special prayer and fasting for NSCN (IM) workers

DIMAPUR, MAY 9 (MExN): The Council of Nagalim Churches (CNC) has declared a seven-day special prayer and fasting programme for all national workers of the NSCN in response to a prophetic message concerning the spiritual and moral state of Nagalim.

The CNC stated that the prophecy warns of impending destruction if the Naga people continue in moral decline, spiritual decay, corruption, and disregard for divine principles. Terming these as grave offenses before God, the CNC has issued a call for repentance and urged all Nagas to seek divine mercy and intervention.

All national workers across units, regions, and departments have been urged to participate in the week-long observance. The CNC expressed hope that, as in the past, fervent prayers would once again bring divine favour. The observance also called for spiritual intercession not only for Nagalim but for India as a whole.

The seven-day fasting has been scheduled is from May 12. On alternate days—Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday—fasting will be observed from 7 AM to 12 Noon. On the remaining days—Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday—fasting will continue from 7 AM until sunset. CNC has advised all participants to consume only simple meals after breaking the fast and refrain from protein-rich and heavy foods such as meat, fish, and eggs throughout the week.

The CNC has also outlined a comprehensive list of prayer themes to guide participants during the week. These include confession and repentance for both personal and national sins, and intercession for an honourable and early conclusion to the Indo-Naga peace process. Participants have been encouraged to pray for Indian authorities and the Indian Army that they may uphold integrity and work towards a peaceful resolution to the political issue.

Intercession is also sought for the collective leadership of the NSCN, for divine guidance, wisdom, and strength to lead without fear or favour. For the Chief Minister of Nagaland, other state ministers, MLAs, MPs, and elected representatives across the Northeast, with a plea for God’s favour so they may fulfill their responsibilities faithfully and help build a corruption-free society.

Additional prayer points include the Steering Committee members of the NSCN, the Council of Kilonsers, and Naga civil society organisations across Nagaland, Manipur, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and Myanmar. The CNC has asked for special prayers for the Army Chief and military leadership, that they may serve with faithfulness and dedication, and for the frontline Naga Army personnel and all commanders to remain loyal to their duties in every season.

The council has called for prayers for Naga tribes and regional workers in Arunachal, Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, and Myanmar to work in unity and cooperation. It has also included bureaucrats in the state secretariats and police departments of Nagaland and Manipur, urging that they serve with integrity and play a role in eradicating corruption.

Further intercession is being sought for Nagas serving in the Indian Armed Forces, civil services, diplomacy, education, and other professional fields, that they may remain devoted to their people and their calling. Judicial figures including Tatars, the Chief Justice, Justices, Judges of the Naga National and Regional Courts are being prayed for, that they may receive wisdom and direction.

The CNC also highlighted the importance of praying for the secretariat staff, the affairs of Alee Mission and other related NSCN operations. Naga Christian leaders, associations, organisations, and missionaries are being uplifted in prayer, with a hope that they will continue interceding for Nagalim without ceasing.

Naga political groups have also been included in the prayer list, with a call for them to rise above party lines and work towards unity and a final solution. Supporters and sympathisers from friendly nations and organisations, Naga political prisoners in various jails, the sick, medical personnel, widows, orphans, and workers of the CNC have also been mentioned in the prayer agenda.
