DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 1 (MExN): With the final NRC draft roll published and more than 19 lakhs people failing to make it to the list, the Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) has raised its apprehension on the arrival of those excluded persons to the state. The CNTC in a press note today urged the Nagaland Government to take preventive measures immediately. It further asked all GBs, chairmen, village and colony councils to “remain alert so that illegal immigrants do not stay in their respective localities especially foothill areas in the border.” “Every citizen should also keep vigil on their part and be responsible. The respective local authorities should not issue any documents to non- locals at this juncture,” it added. The CNTC further demanded strict checking of ILP by the state police at every entry point.
