Colonies allege anomalies in selection of IHSDP beneficiaries

Dimapur, April 29 (MExN): Two colonies have claimed that it has detected anomalies and misrepresentation in the list of beneficiaries approved under the Integrated Housing and Slum Development Programme (IHSDP/IN-SITU for Urban Poor), particularly in respect of Dimapur Municipal Ward No. 12.

The two colonies – Industrial Estate Colony and Ao Kong Colony – made the claims in a representation to the Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur and stated that the list deserves to be carefully scrutinized.

While stating that there are four colonies in Ward No. 12, namely Lengrijan, Industrial Estate, Hill View and Ao Kong, the two colonies disclosed that from the approved list of 76 beneficiaries, 2 were from Ao Kong, 1 from Industrial Estate and 4 from Hill View. The rest, the colonies claimed, were from Lengrijan. “Surprisingly, almost all the names of all the beneficiaries are bogus and against the house numbers belonging to other owners,” they alleged in the representation which was made available to the media.

The two colonies called upon the authority concerned to immediately cancel the approved list and reconsider the selection process “in the right perspective with utmost transparency.”

The memorandum was signed by Ao Kong Chairman Lanuhangshi and GB T. Onen Jamir, and Industrial Estate Chairman TW Lotha and GB Nungsang Lemtur.
