Advisor Tovihoto Ayemi distributing megaphones to urban colony councils on March 8.

Dimapur, March 8 (MExN): Advisor, Power, Government of Nagaland, H Tovihoto Ayemi distributed megaphones to colony councils under Dimapur Municipality on March 8.
In this connection, Media Cell for Advisor in a press release stated that the Dimapur Urban Council Chairmen Federation (DUCCF) organised a function in the council hall of Niu Colony, Burma Camp Dimapur which was graced by Advisor, Power as a special guest and gave away the megaphones to urban council chairmen.
Addressing the gathering, the advisor said that the colony leaders shoulder immense responsibilities and with lots of expectations from public. Leadership comes with a duty to perform and one must have a specific goal to achieve for the welfare of the people during his or her tenure, Tovihoto maintained and added that the development and administration of a colony heavily depend on the efficiency of its chairperson.
He was of the view that each council, with DUCCF as its platform must have a strong setup of administration followed by a common vision of growth and development of Dimapur as a whole.
Tovihoto pointed out that it responsibility to the councils to address the government about the need and requirements of the people in respective colonies. He called upon council leaders to give emphasis on educating the public to be responsible citizens especially when it comes to cleanliness and community participation in social activities.
Cleanliness is one area wherein more awareness has to be created, the advisor said and educating the citizens of their moral responsibility in keeping Dimapur clean and extensive community involvement in waste management will significantly contribute to the success of reducing the garbage hazard.
Littering public facilities and places and rampant dumping of garbage does not make an individual a responsible and good citizen, he lamented.
