NFHRCC adopts resolutions on ongoing project
Wokha, February 10 (MExN): A combined inspection team consisting of the Nagaland Foothills Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC), concerned department led by EE PWD(R&B) , the contractor and firm, apex tribal Hohos and local CSOs visited the Doyang Bridge construction site at Governor’s camp, Liphanyan on February 10.
In a press release, the NFHRCC informed of the various resolutions adopted after much deliberation and discussion on the ongoing project.
They resolved to re-endorse the February 5 resolution that the Doyang Bridge Construction at Liphanyan should be completed within 2021 and all stakeholders should give their best in making the project a success. The meeting further endorsed the departmental technical report that 70.66% of the work was completed so far.
They also reaffirmed that any issue/clarification with regard to the Foothills Road construction shall be made known and clarified through the knowledge of the tribal committee members to ventilate to all relevant competent authorities for any redressal and necessary action.
It was also resolved that the NFHRCC would take immediate necessary steps for the construction of the Bridge in identifying the ‘Chargeable Head’ for work with the Government.
Further, the NFHRCC reaffirmed its stand that the release of bills to the contractor would be done on the fulfillment of the work progress and completion.
The meeting also resolved to appeal to all elected MLAs to participate in a positive and constructive debate with regard to the progress of the Foothills Road.
The NFHRCC also reaffirmed its earlier resolution on restriction of collection of stone boulders/chips within the limit of 1 kilometer on both sides of the bridge construction, including both upstream and downstream.
In this regard, it was resolved to entrust the Lotha Hoho to enforce the necessary instructions.
