Common Platform for 10th Northern Angami-1 AC candidates

The Kohima Village Council (KVC) today organized a common platform for the intending candidates of 10th Northern Angami-1 Assembly Constituency for the upcoming February 27 Nagaland polls 2023.

Election to this Assembly Constituency will witness a straight fight between Khriehu Liezietsu of Naga People’s Front (NPF) and Dr Kekhrielhoulie Yhome of Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP).   

Held at Kewhimia Riizhiichii, Ziekiezou, both the candidates shared their visions and political agendas.

In his speech, Khriehu Liezietsu thanked the electorates for their blessings and support in the last elections, and further sought their help in the 2023 state general election as well.

Liezietsu informed the gathering that he wanted to carry forward his mission to uplift the community and all round development, if elected again.

He vowed to work more for the welfare of the needy people, widow, students, to encourage the educated youth in the competitive exam and to connect various welfare schemes to the community.   

Liezietsu announced that he wishes to facilitate start- up activities for the youth, training and scholarship for sportspersons and to strengthen Self Help Group (SHG) for empowerment of women.

Further, Liezietsu assured to give special attention towards agriculture, road, electricity and water supply.

Dr Kekhrielhoulie Yhome made a fervent appeal to the people to help him and enable him to represent and speak for them in the state assembly.

He requested the people to give him a chance to exercise equitable development for the community. “We will all work together irrespective of party politics if I am elected,” he said.  

As lawmaker, I shall make policies and programmes to uplift our people, he added.

Sharing his dreams and visions, Dr. Yhome announced that he would give importance on employment, capacity building, skill development, trade and business.

Dr Yhome said that he want to pursue for establishing engineering college, agriculture university, capital complex police station, strengthening of community health centre, school, water supply and road improvement works.

Earlier, the programme was chaired by KVC chairman Hielievio Solo while vote of thanks was proposed by KVC vice chairman Zeneizo Rutsa.
