‘Community Concern & Service Day’ held at Amaluma

Dimapur, February 28 (MExN): A joint team of Patkai Christian College Model United Nation (PCCMUN) and CAN (Community Avenue Network) Youth organized a daylong ‘Community Concern & Service Day’ on February 27 at Amaluma village under Dhansiripar in Dimapur.  

According to a press release from Coordinator, Project Youth Voluntarism, CAN Youth, the team interacted with the teaching staff, School Management Committee, village council, GBs and parents of the students of Government Middle School (GMS), Amaluma.   The interactive session raised and discussed issues regarding the development of the school and its education system and bringing good governance in the village council and School Management Committee. The Teacher In-charge of the school also raised the issue of irregular teachers and shortage of teaching staff, the release said.   The joint team, the release added, expressed that there is no point blaming oneself for the prevailing condition. The team also stressed that it should be a group effort, but individual concern, to bring changes in the education system for the development of the village.   The programme was led by Samuel Walling, Secretary, CAN Youth and Chingthiankim Simte, President, PCCMUN.   After the interaction hour, the team organised some fun activities with the students and distributed gifts and stationeries, which were contributed by Patkai Christain College MUN. The daylong program ended with vote of thanks by Thangnodao Naiding, Chairperson of the School Management Committee.
