Community education on ‘Vitamin Angels’ in Mon

Mon, April 30 (MExN): A ‘Vitamin Angels’ training was conducted by Swapan Kumar Das Senior SPO Vitamin Angels India at Mon in collaboration with John 3:16 Society Mon, as partner on April 29.

The Senior SPO said that Vitamin Angels is a global non-profit organization that aims to advance nutrition and health outcomes across the lifespan by ensuring equitable access to evidence-based nutrition interventions to reach ‘underserved populations’. 

“Our nutrition intervention targets pregnant women, new mothers and children under-five in an effort to break the intergenerational cycle of under nutrition,” he added. 

Some of the children received a dose of Vitamin A nutrition on the day of training free of cost, Director John 3:16 Society, P Hamkai Konyak Mon informed in a press release.

According to the release, the Senior SPO also explained about the benefits of vitamin A and also spoke about COVID -19 and advised participants to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for everyone’s safety. The programme was attended by the Childline and john 3:16 society staff Mon.
