
Dimapur, September 28 (MExN): The Working Committee (WC) Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs), GPRN/NSCN and Sumi Hoho today condoled that death of Rev Dr Shiwoto Assumi on September 26.
WC, NNPGs: In a condolence note from its Convener N Kitovi Zhimomi, the WC, NNPGs, conglomerate of seven Naga political groups, termed late Rev Dr Shiwoto as “one the most respected God anointed preachers of our time.”
“At such critical period of Naga history, WC in particular and Naga people in general needed a sound moral and spiritual torchbearers like him to regenerate our people and society,” it conveyed.
Calling him “more patriotic than most patriots,” the WC, NNPGs said that late Rev Dr Shiwoto was a “powerful instrument of the Almighty God to bring sweeping spiritual and social revival in our land and beyond.” He was faithful servant of the Lord, a wonderful husband, an adorable loving father, it said.
“May his departure to his Heavenly Home renew the strength and faith of his loving family, friends and fellowmen he prayed for and sermoned mightily over the decade,” the WC, NNPGs added.
GPRN/NSCN: The GPRN/NSCN under the leadership of Gen (Retd) MB Neokpao Konyak and N Kitovi Zhimomi also expressed its anguish and sorrow over the demise.
“Late Rev Dr Shiwoto was a faithful and influential servant of God known to everyone for his spiritual charm and leadership, who had mesmerized many souls through the gospel of love, compassion and brotherhood of humanity,” stated the GPRN/NSCN in a condolence message from its MIP.
He was not only a veteran pillar for the Nagaland Christian Revival Churches (NCRC) alone but is also an asset for the whole Naga people in the spiritual realm, it said.
It further noted that Rev Dr Shiwoto’s demise is a great loss that would be felt by the Naga people for “whom he had left legacy of religious and spiritual bonding and have also inspired and awaken many to emulate the life he had lived.”
“The GPRN/NSCN shares deepest sorrow of his near and dear ones and convey heartfelt condolence to all bereaved dear family members for whom beloved late Rev Dr Shiwoto meant the world and prays the Almighty to grant solace and comfort at this grief time,” it added. “May the departed soul rest in eternal peace.”
Sumi Hoho: The Sumi Hoho also conveyed td shock and sadness to learn about the demise. Late Rev Dr Shiwoto Assumiwas an anointed and a charismatic spiritual leader who was revered by all sections of the Naga people and his powerful preaching had positively impacted the lives within and outside Nagaland, stated the Sumi Hoho in a condolence note from its President, Nikheto Jimomi and General Secretary Dr Vihuto Asumi.
“In his demise, Nagas in general and Sumis in particular have lost a tall church leader and the vacuum created in his demise can never be filled,” it said. “We pray that the Almighty God grant solace to the bereaved family in times of grief and May the departed soul rest in eternal peace. Alhou she!,” it added.
