Congress dismiss allegation

DIMAPUR, NOV 2 (MExN): The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has clarified on the media report “State Congress Party hit by dissident activity” and termed the contents of the news as a figment of imagination with malicious intention to create confusion in the minds of the Congress Party workers.  Strongly reacting to the statement, the Congress said its party was guided by its constitution and rules and any allegation against the party will bear no substance unless acted according to the provisions prescribed. “There is no dispute on the leadership of Hokheto Sumi, President and CLP leader I. Imkong and there are no differences on Naga political issue as such. The party is very clear on its stand when it comes to Naga political issue that, any solution on the Naga political issue should be acceptable by every section of the Naga people. We have not deviated from our consistent stand on the Naga political issue and there is nothing to debate,” the Congress party maintained.

Expressing surprise over the alleged statement that the party knows nothing about the functioning of the party activities but simply pouring out his anger against the party leadership by citing the ideological difference between the CLP and the NPCC particularly on Naga political issue, the Congress said “it show that he has interest of becoming NPCC President and thereby bringing out the name of Neiba Ndang, Ex-Speaker as probable candidate in order to hide his true identity.”

Taking serious note over the allegation leveled to Governor of Goa, S. C. Jamir, the party said “Governor of Goa, SC Jamir, who is the Constitutional Head of the State, to be involved in a political party affair cannot be imagined by any reasonable person. Whatever be the grudges against the person, we must honour and respect the office one is holding.”Expressing dismay at the alleged statement that a Congress insider is worried about his chances of contesting in the coming election as he is the only person who fails to cooperate and strengthen the hands of the Party; the party clarified that the differences in the party as claimed by the “Congress insider” reflects the differences he has with other party leaders and the matter is left to him alone to sort out his own differences.

“The “Congress insider” allegation against the Party leader for not being part of the all party delegation to New Delhi shows his inclination to go away from the party. Otherwise as a loyal party leader he is expected to act according to the Party policy and programmes. The “Congress insider” ulterior motive of attacking on the Congress “open door policy” shows that he does not want the Party to grow but should confine to a small circle which he represents and talking big above his capacity. If the “Congress insider” wants to question the authority of the party leaders, he should first ascertain his position in the Party,” the Congress asserted.

The party further asserted that any issues that are brought out through the “Congress insider” imagination against the Party was not going to serve any useful purpose adding that the Congress party will not be weakened but strengthen without those person with vested interest in the Party.
