Congress should cooperate: NPF

DIMAPUR OCT 29 (MExN): Responding to the statement of Congress Party, ‘NPCC takes Thenucho to task’ that appeared in local dailies on Oct 28, the Nagaland Peoples’ Front (NPF), Kohima felt that the Congress should come forward and cooperate with the Govt. in mitigating and solving the problems concertedly if they have genuine concern for the Naga people and rather than hurling irrelevant accusations at others as their routine affairs.

The NPF stated that on the fragile law and order issue, the Government is giving full effort in addressing and dealing with the situation. The NPF also felt right to remind Zhenito that unlike an authoritative Congress party, the strength of NPF party lies with collective responsibility and decisions on all matters.

“Besides this traditional hallmark, he should know that I am the Press Secretary of NPF party. Therefore, questioning of my moral authority by Zhenito is merely a futile and desperate exercise” stated R Paphino, Press Secretary, NPF. “Contrary to his statement, it is quite amusing to observe that when Hokheto, their President, has miserably failed to substantiate proof of his charges against the NPF President Dr. Shurhozelie and being cornered, he let loose his cronies to divert the issue,” he added.
“But I reiterate that the onus of burden (proofing the charge) is still wrested with Hokheto, the NPCC President” Paphino further added.

The NPF further stated that brushing aside facts and reasons, the Congress party banked on its strategy of repeatedly castigating the NPF-led Government on issues like Naga problem, law and order, solution of Naga problem within three months despite clarification given by the NPF party and Government time to time.

They also felt that the Congress party is howling to get undue political advantage out of the problems.
