Three Naga riders -- Kevin Puro, Along Aria (Khenglubo Newmai) and Along Aier -- brought laurels to Nagaland with their performances at the 6th JK Tyre Rally of the Himalayas 2026, held from September 26 to 30 across the challenging high-altitude terrains of Lahaul-Spiti and Zanskar Valley in Ladakh.
The rally is regarded as one of India's demanding motorsport events, testing competitors' endurance, navigation, precision and driving skills.
Puro, representing Nagaland Adventure Club (NAC), secured first position in Class 7 (Thar Open Category) in the Adventure TSD (Time, Speed and Distance) category.

Aria, representing Adventure & Motor Sports Association (AMAM), Mokokchung, secured first position in the Amateur CL2 Class in the Adventure TSD category.
Aier, representing Nagaland Adventure & Motor Sports Association (NAMSA), finished fifth in P5, Class X3 (Extreme) category.
The NAC congratulated its member Puro on his achievement, describing it as a matter of pride for the club, Nagaland and the wider motorsports fraternity of Northeast India.
The club said Puro's performance reflected his dedication, courage, discipline and passion for motorsport.
The NAC also congratulated other participants from Nagaland and the Northeast for their performances, including Aria of AMAM; Aneesh Sangma of Tura Motor Sports Club, Meghalaya, who secured P1 in Class X3 (Extreme) and P5 Overall (Extreme); Aier and Vikishe Shohe of NAMSA in P5, Class X3 (Extreme); and Phoebe Dale Nongrum, representing Meghalaya Motor Sports Society, in P4, Class X3 (Extreme).
The NAC said the achievements and participation of the riders brought honour to Nagaland and the Northeast and wished them continued success, safety and further victories in their future endeavours.
