Tuensang, February 28 (MExN): Three Chang unions have observed that the road construction on National Highway 202 stretching from 88km-93km has stopped since January and the road is in deplorable condition for vehicles to ply. Therefore, the contractor responsible for the stretch of road has been requested to start the construction work at the earliest.
The three unions - Chang Union, Saksi, Chang Students' Union, and Sector Union 13th Ward of Saksi NAP Sector Tuensang - had visited the ongoing road construction of National Highway 202 within their jurisdiction from Eshou Gate colony to KT colony on February 24.
The road stretching from 93km-107km is going on presently within Saksi 3rd NAP jurisdiction, the unions said in a press release.
The unions further appealed to both the contractors (M/S L. Pukhato Sohe & Sons and M/S Vertex Construction) to complete the construction works within the stipulated time as per the DPR/ Contract Specifications.
They also appealed to the department concerned (NH Div-3 PWD Tuensang) to continuously monitor the workmanship of the construction as per the specifications and also requested the general public to co-operate with the authority/ contractors for the smooth completion of the works.
According to the release, the three unions will be inspecting and monitoring the progress and quality of the construction works from time to time and will extend its full co-operation towards the project.
