Kohima | March 15 : A couples’ seminar under the theme “Family’s Renewal” was organized by Nagaland Baptist Church and held today at Kohima Lotha Baptist Church. Many married couple from different Churches attended the seminar, where Rev. Luoliehu Yimsung, Ambassador at large, overseas Naga Association (ONA), Australia was the resource person.
Echoing out his opinion to the married couples, the resource person said worldly wealth does not build happy families. Stating that Nagaland church is too religious, Rev. Yimsung said it is time that church has to be open enough for discussion. “Our church is too religious, we are not open enough,” said Rev. Yimsung. Focusing on the topic of Marriage and its life, Rev. Yimsung said marriage is a very unique experience whether it’s a happy one or not, affirming that the only other thing important in life is relationship with God. He also underlined that secular approach to marriage is very different from that of the Christian couples’ concept on marriage, and said “we should not permit any couple where one is a non-believer to get married in the church”, which will convey wrong message to the youth. Rev. Yimsung, said there are too many marital problems in the church today which is because the church is inconsistent where it has to be changed to consistency.

Dwelling on the Christian marriage covenant, Rev. Yimsung said pledge to care, love one another for better or worse, in health or sickness, rich or poor, there is no choice in ‘this’ divine covenant except obey and submit to god, “We must be willing to love and abide in-spite of all the problems and hardships”, he added. Rev. Yimsung, further said Christian marriage is a persistent effort on the part of two people to create for each other, the circumstances in which each can become the person god intended to be than he/she can become being alone adding that the church must step in, to minister them and should be the only organization to care a person from cradle to grave.
The whole day programme was followed by Holy Communion. Earlier, Rev. Naro led a mass prayer while Moba, Pastor, Konyak Baptist church was the moderator of the seminar.
