Kohima, April 6 (MExN): In view of the “inordinate delay” of the Nagaland Police in taking action on the FIR lodged against the sitting Nagaland Lok Sabha MP, Neiphiu Rio, on an education certificate issue, a Complaint Case NO. 1/2016 and Criminal Misc. Case No.98/2016 has been filed before the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate and Civil Judge Senior Division, Kohima on March 31.
“The Criminal Misc. Case application was instituted for condoning the delay in filing the Complaint Case to meet the ends of justice,” informed in a press release from the Human Rights Law Network, Nagaland. It also informed that the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate and Civil Judge Senior Division, Kohima, by an order dated March 31, has directed the Counsel for the complainant to serve notice to the MP and fix the matter for hearing on April 18.
