COVID-19 Dimapur: ‘Vaccination is one of the biggest gifts’

Dimapur, February 4 (MExN): The District Immunization Officer, Dimapur, Dr Rebecca addressing the Dimapur District Task Force meeting on February 4 said, “Vaccination is one of the biggest gifts that medical science has given to mankind. 

On the wrong information about COVID vaccination doing the rounds, Dr Rebecca advised the District Task Force members for educating the people in clearing the misconceptions, and highlighted on the successful eradication of diseases like polio, small pox etc through mass vaccination. 

She added, “Believe what we see and experience with our own eyes instead of believing in wrong information” and encouraged the members for communicating the right information to the community in their own respected platform.
She also informed that till date 1116 health workers has been vaccinated with no reports of adverse events.  

DC Dimapur informs on session sites for 2nd phase
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS has directed concern departments for identifying session sites by following the technical requirements for the 2nd phase of vaccination to be conducted on February 9. 

The DC asked the concern departments for finalising the session sites by tying up with the CMO office and District Immunization officer by February 5 and to ensure for uploading the names of the beneficiaries at the earliest on or before February 7.

Besides the vaccination team, the DC asked the police, Home guards, Prisons and other concern departments to ensure that security, law and order and other related issues are taken care of.
