COVID-19: Nagaland crosses 2000 mark with record single-day spike of 194 cases

The spike in COVID-19 casescontinued unabated in Nagaland and broke the daily record on Monday with 194 confirmed infections, according to an update by a Health authority. 

With this, the total State COVID-19 tally also crossed 2000- mark to reach 2129 on August 3.  

“194 new +ve cases have been confirmed out of 845 samples tested,” State Health and Family Welfare Minister, S Pangnyu Phom updated on Twitter at 3 PM.  

Out of these, 136 were registered from Dimapur alone, while there were 36 from Zunheboto and 22 from Kohima, he informed. 

“Necessary contact tracing have been activated and all primary contacts are under self isolation,” he added. 

This is the fourth day in a row when the fresh cases have been over 100 in the state. (see image)

With the new addition, Nagaland's COVID-19 status as of August 3, 3 PM stood at: Total – 2129; Active – 1473; Recovered:  648; and Deaths-4.

According to state health authorities, “1 death is Covid-19 positive but not due to Covid-19, 1 death had co-morbidities & tested Covid-19 positive, under investigation.” Two cases have been “Migrated.”
