COVID-19 vaccine: Second booster dose administered in Wokha

Wokha, February 18 (MExN): Chief Medical Officer, Wokha Dr CW Tungoe took his second booster dose of COVID-19 vaccine on February 18 at Urban Primary Health Centre Wokha. 

According to a press note issued by the CMO office Wokha, second booster dose was administered to more than 270 health care workers at Chukitong, Wokha sadar, Englan, Sungro, Bhandari, Sanis, Tongtongo and Wozhuro session sites. 

CMO Wokha stated that no adverse event following immunization was reported in any of the session sites. He encouraged all the health care workers and frontline workers to take the vaccine to develop full immunity. The next round for the second dose for health care workers and frontline workers in the district will be held on February 25 and March 9, Dr Tungoe informed. 

Dr Abenthung Murry, Medical Officer in charge of Chukitong Primary Health Centre session site informed that some health care workers who were hesitant to take the vaccine earlier are coming forward to take it now. 

Dr Renathung Kithan, Medical Officer Bhandari Community Health Centre stated that they are continuously carrying out awareness campaign among the frontline workers and health care workers to take the vaccine. He further stated that the turnout for the second dose at Bhandari CHC session site was positive.
