Jalukie, November 21 (MExN): Under the aegis of Placement Cell of the College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, Central Agricultural University (I) at Jalukie organised one day 'career counseling cum interaction programme for the students on November 21.
The programme was graced by Dr I Shakuntala, Dean, CoVSc & AH, Jalukie, Nagaland as chairperson. She highlighted the importance of career counseling/motivational talk to motivate students to opt for their desired career, rather than depending on government placement. The Dean expressed that the job market was full of challenges and asked students to benefit from the resource persons. Dr Pankaj Lal Gogoi, Director, Northeast Agrovet Pvt. Ldt and Dr Tridib Kakoty, Veterinary Private Clinician, Shillong, Meghalaya were resource persons. Dr Gogoi spoke on, Poultry Farming: Best Business Opportunities for Start-up and spoke about business opportunities and how to start poultry farming.
Dr Tridib Kakoty spoke on, Career Transition Plans for Veterinarians in Private Practice. Earlier, Dr SK Borthakur, Professor & Head, Department of Livestock Farm Complex and Placement Cell incharge of the college, delivered introductory speech mentioning the objective of the day long career counseling programme.
Dr Bhabesh Mili, Assistant Professor, Veterinary Physiology & Biochemistry & Member Secretary proposed vote of thanks.
