Tamulpur, February 13 (MExN): The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) India Region Zone III convened a joint meeting of its Executive Committee and the Executive Council of the North East Regional Institute of Parliamentary Studies, Training and Research (NERIPSTR) at Tamulpur in Bodoland, Assam, on February 11.
The meeting was presided over by Sharingain Longkumer, Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, in his capacity as Chairman and President of CPA India Region Zone III and NERIPSTR.
The session was attended by the Presiding Officers of the eight North Eastern states, along with senior officials from their respective states.
A major highlight of the meeting was the discussion on finalisation of dates for the upcoming 23rd Annual CPA Conference, proposed to be held in Agartala, Tripura. After detailed deliberations, the committee tentatively agreed on April 21–27, 2026, as the conference dates, subject to approval by the Speaker of the Lok Sabha.
During the meeting, the Secretary of CPA India Region Zone III presented a report on the current fund position, while the Director of NERIPSTR placed the audit report before the members.
The members also deliberated on fiscal measures aimed at strengthening the operational capabilities of the organisations.
