
Dimapur, February 20 (MExN): The President of the Chakhesang Public Organisation today decried what it termed, ‘some stray incidents while “hustings” for March 5 poll involved by some Naga National workers in Phek district’ and said that it expects the ‘Naga national workers’ to refrain themselves from getting involved in the state electioneering process. A press release issued by the CPO President Yesonu Veyie, in this regard said that ‘it is a fact that political parties have registered themselves under the constitution of India and the candidates also have affirmed themselves to uphold the constitution of India and fighting to form government in the state under the constitution of India’.
However, he said that ‘though free for everyone to participate in the electioneering campaign, yet one should not involve in party politics with Naga National politics’. “It is expected that the Naga National workers will refrain themselves from involving the state electioneering politics in the name of National workers/factions either with national arms or forces, that the trust of their commitment to National service is contained,” said the release. In this connection the release appealed to all section of the people to allow free and fair poll and to vote with a positive conscience to elect the best candidate to represent the people. “Let us contribute towards creating conclusive atmosphere to repose our mandate to realize our common aspiration without fear and prejudice,” the CPO appealed.
