Creating an entrepreneurship atmosphere for agriculture students

Medziphema, September 2 (MExN): A one day awareness programme on entrepreneurship was organised by STINER-TFC, Nagaland Centre, NU: SASRD at SASRD Campus on August 31.
A press release issued by Andrew Lalthawmliana, Project Assistant, STINER-TFC, NU: SASRD said that the main focus of the programme was to create an entrepreneurship atmosphere in the campus for agriculture students in order to make them an entrepreneur in future.
Prof AK Makar, Dean, NU: SASRD graced the inaugural programme as the special guest. In his short speech, he highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship especially in the field of agriculture and the opportunities that exist in this sector. The programme was chaired by Prof. Akali Sema, Project Incharge, STINER-TFC.
The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Sentirenla Changkiri, Project Assistant; Pekjum Kakki, President EU, SASRD invoked God’s presence while the vote of thanks was delivered by Andrew Lalthawmliana, Project Assistant.
The inaugural programme was followed by lectures and practical activities from eminent resource person viz. Lezo Putsure, Director, YouthNet; Samir Bordoloi, Secretary General, Spread-NE; Vito Sumi, Proprietor, Ghile farm; Rev. Dr. Chingmak Chang, Secretary, Eleutheros Christian Society and T. Dili Khekho, Proprietor, D-Cafe. The resource persons took the participants through the important aspects of entrepreneurship- importance, benefits, opportunities, challenge and case studies to create awareness about the opportunities that the entrepreneurship sector provides in helping one to become more innovative, independent and successful in life.
A total of 112 numbers of students from B.Sc. (Ag) Hons 2nd Year, 3rd year and B.Voc participated in the programme.
