Dignitaries who attended the inauguration of the new cricket practice pitch at CHSS Dimapur on December 14.
DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 14 (MExN): Honorary General Secretary of Nagaland Cricket Association, H Anilo Khing inaugurated a cricket practice pitch at the Christian Higher Secondary Dimapur grounds on December 14.
The pitch was donated by Tahmeed Rahman, an alumnus of CHSS, who is al First Class cricketer, has played in the Ranji Trophy, holds the record for the first and the only hattrick in the First Class match among the North-East states, captained the BCCI’s combined U-19 NE states and Bihar ; and represented Nagaland in Under-23 State Team.
H Anilo Khing, in his inaugural speech, lauded the contribution made by Rahman not only to the school but also to Nagaland cricket. He highlighted the NCA’s journey by stating how it’s former President, Chief Minister Shri Nephiu Rio; former General Secretary, Abu Metha; Joint Secretary, Ahidur Rahman and former Vice President, Bendang Jamir worked hard, persevered and fought hard to make Nagaland the 30th member of the BCCI. He also praised CHSS for embracing the game of cricket for the students and at the same time giving quality education and life. He declared that NCA would soon adopt the school to promote women’s cricket in the state.
The programme was attended by NCA members, DDCA officials, senior members of Nagaland Cricket Team, Tahmeed Rahman’s family, besides administrators, teachers and students of CHSS. The programme was chaired by Jose VA, Supervisor, CHSS; and word of acknowledgement was given by S Moatemsu Walling, Principal, CHSS.
