Pfütsero, May 3 (MExN): The Chakhesang Scholar's Forum (CSF) was formally launched and its first office bearers were inducted at Pfütsero Government College (PGC) on April 29.

CSF was formed under the convenorship of Dr Zavise Rume, Professor, State Council of Educational & Research Training (SCERT) with the primary objective to provide a common platform and promote healthy interactions on academic issues and promote academic excellence. It envisages sharing intellectual resources, creating resourceful academic body, providing authentic information and acting as think-tank of the society, Dr Rume stated. As scholars, it is time to give our relevance to the society, he added.

Former vice principal, PGC and Advisor of CSF, Medozü Mero, said the forum was much needed as it can secure many good things for the community. Though it is a small step today, he expressed hope that better things will come in future adding that success of every venture had a small beginning. 

Office bearers inducted
The office bearers of CSF will be headed by Dr Zavise Rume as Chairperson; Dr Khrüvolü Keyho, Asst Prof, NU as Vice Chairperson; Tavezo, Asst Prof, PGC as General Secretary; Nuveta Kausoh, Asst Prof, PGC as Secretary (academic); Dr Rukulu Puro, chief instructor, Centre of Cue Academy, Centre of writing skills and Asst Prof Capital College as Secretary (journal publication); Wepekhro Wetsah, Asst Prof, PGC as Secretary (Finance); Arele Sakhamo, Post Graduate Teacher at Govt High School, Razeba as Secretary (Statistics); Reyivolu Rhakho as Secretary Press and Media; Asu Chuzho, Asst Prof, PGC as treasurer along with 18 other executive members.

In the second session, a panel discussion on relevance of academic subjects was organised. Dr Khrüvolü Keyho, Asst Prof, NU spoke on the relevance of Tenyidie as an academic subject while Dr Khrosoloü Teno, Associate Professor, Baptist Theological College, Pfütsero spoke on Theology and its relevance to the society. 

Earlier, Rev Dr Kuzhopoyo Tunyi, Pastor at Chakhesang Baptist Church Council Mission Church, Pfütsero prayed for the newly inducted office bearers. Tavezo, Asst Professor, PGC delivered welcome address while Zünyiteü, Asst Professor, PGC proposed vote of thanks.
