CTAN asks depts to withhold exams till SSB is functional

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 25 (MExN): The Combined Technical Association of Nagaland (CTAN) has urged all departments of the Nagaland State Government to restrain from conducting any departmental exams till the Staff Selection Board is fully functional.

A press release from the CTAN meanwhile urged the Nagaland Public Works Department (PWD) to acknowledge the representation which was submitted to the department by the Civil Engineers Association of Nagaland (CEAN) calling for the termination of alleged “backdoor appointees of SO Grade-II, Draftsmen and Surveyor.”

The CEAN representation, dated January 7, 2019 had listed the names of the alleged “backdoor appointees” and had asked the government to act within 30 days. It had called for the termination of alleged illegal appointees of 30 SO’s grade-II, 7 Draftsmen and 7 Surveyors under the NPWD appointed between July 6, 2016 and August 10, 2018.

The CTAN however lamented that the representation is yet to be acknowledged, let alone acted upon.

The CTAN meanwhile informed that the posts of 9 SO grade-II employees which were advertised vide notification NO.NPWD/E-IN-C/DRB/90/2019, dated November 23 is for the existing vacancy and not as demanded by CEAN when the said representation was submitted.

Therefore, the CTAN appealed the PWD to acknowledge the demand made by CEAN in their letter and also requested the department to postpone the departmental exam for the post of SO grade-II till the demand of CEAN is met.
