CTC installs new Principal

Mokokchung, May 1 (MExN): The installation and consecration service for the new Principal of Clark Theological College (CTC) Rev Dr A Temjen Jamir was held on April 27 at the Multi-Purpose Hall, CTC.

ABAM Executive Secretary, Rev Dr Mar Pongener ministered the installation and offered the prayer of consecration.

Members of CTC Board of Governors, led by its Chairman, Pastors from neighboring Churches, well-wishers and Clark Community participated in the service. 

Rev Dr A Temjen Jamir expressed gratitude to the Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang, the Board of Governors of CTC and the Clark Community for posing their trust on him to shoulder the responsibility as the Principal of CTC. Along with seeking God’s leading hand, the new Principal wished for cooperation and team work in the ministry of training young people who are “called out for the Great Harvest.”

Short speeches were also delivered by Dr Sunep Imchen, Chairman, CTC Board of Governors, Geihwang Konyak, President, CTCSU, and Rev Temshi Pastor, Changtongya Town Baptist Church. The programme was chaired by Dr NungshiTzüdir.

Hailing from Akhoya village, Rev Dr A Temjen Jamir is a member of Changtongya Town Baptist Church. Before joining CTC in 1994 as a lecturer in the department of Communication, Rev Dr A Temjen Jamir served as Associate Pastor (Youth) from 1987-1990 at Kohima Ao Baptist Church. He served the institution as Dean of Practical Ministry, Dean of Post Graduate Studies, and Academic Dean of the College till his recent appointment as Principal, an official communiqué from the College informed.

He is also the author of Popularisation of Folk Music in Christian Worship (2001/2018) and Folk Dance as Ecumenical Communication: A Theological Vision and Mission (2020). “The Clark Community has a great expectation and wishes our dear Principal God’s abundant blessing as he takes up this new responsibility,” it added.
