Cultural exchange prog held at St. Edmund’s Hr. Sec. School

Dimapur, July 2 (MExN): The administration of St. Edmund’s Hr. Sec. School, Dimapur organized a cultural exchange programme at the school premises on July 1.  

In his keynote address, Seiyenol Neikha, lecturer encouraged the students not to neglect their culture and never to brand them as something orthodox.

Competitions were organized where students showcased their various traditional dances, folk songs, folktales, and displayed various tribal folktales in the form of drama, skits, informed a press release from the school principal.  

According to the release, some professionals, experts were invited to train the students in various cultural dances, folk songs, folktale etc for more than a week prior to the programme. During the period, the students not only learned their own culture but also learned one another’s cultural dances, folksongs, folktales etc.  

The main objective of the programme was to inculcate a sense of pride among the students in their own culture and learn and respect each other’s rich cultural heritage, the release stated. Principal of the school, Akokla Walling distributed prizes to all the participants on July 1.
