CYF demands investigation into alleged assault of DB

Phek, February 21 (MExN): The Chakhesang Youth Front (CYF) has condemned the alleged assault on T Ngolo Koza, a government Dobashi of Khezhakeno village on February 15.

According to a press release from the CYF on Sunday, Koza was reportedly abducted by a mob belonging from Tungjoy village in the neighbouring Manipur state, while he was on duty at Chida Resort, Khezhakeno. It alleged that the mob had assaulted and attempted to murder the Dobashi while he was on official duty.

Condemning the incident, the CYF stated that the act was a “direct challenge to Chakhesang Community and also the Government of Nagaland,” as it occurred, “well within the demarcated Nagaland State boundary” based on Watershed Principle as surveyed by the 1872 British-India Administration by Captain Butler and Dr. Gordon.

Reiterating that Koza who was deputed by the Khezhakeno Magistrate (EAC), had every right to perform his government official duty well within his designated jurisdiction, the CYF demanded that the State Government immediately expedite the investigation, and arrest and punish the culprits with befitting justice.
