Kohima, September 8 (MExN): The Cheridiki Youth and Sports Association (CYSA) has condemned the September 3 incident, where one of its members Zasilie Yase was “beaten black and blue” by four persons at Tinpati junction, Kohima. A press release issued by CYSA president Zaputuo Angami and secretary Kekhrieselie Chase informed that on the fateful night around 7 to 8 pm, the main accused Seyievizo Zhatsu, who was reportedly in an inebriated state, waylaid the victim Zasilie and his five other friends who were roaming around at Tinpati junction.
It was alleged that the six friends were stopped without reasons. However, since the accused was in an inebriated state, Zasilie and his friends reportedly left the scene.
The CYSA release alleged that Seyievizo came back along with three other friends and beat up Zasilie and another friend Keviu whose condition was reported to be out of danger. CYSA termed the act as an attempt to murder the victim Zasilie, who was injured on the stomach and had to be admitted to Kohimas Hospital.
The three other accused are Diethosituo Rio, Keneisetuo Solo, and Bendang L. Jamir. The four accused were arrested by the police personnel the next day and are in the custody of North Police station, it was informed.
